Description
Five pampered women, wives of the powerful rich executives of an international mining company, accompany their husbands on business to Australia; afterwards they travel to a nearby tropical island.
While the husbands are visiting a mine, the women go for a yacht trip along the coast where wild, dense vegetation embraces beautiful beaches. When the yacht breaks down on the return journey they are forced to scramble along a jungle path in darkness.
Exhausted, the women near the hotel, but from the trees they see their husbands shot, in cold blood, by a group of terrorists.
The women escape – back into the jungle, and into a breathtaking sequence of events that make Savages, Shirley Conran’s new novel, quite simply sensational.
