Description
‘If a 29-year-old Englishman had written a book like this set in our capital city he would have been fêted as yet another saviour of British crime … Michael Ledwidge’s excellent first novel [is] just about as fine a début as you’ll find in a month of Sundays’ Independent on Sunday
Tom Farrell thinks he’s got the perfect heist: a job on a ritzy hotel with maximum gain and minimum risk. All goes according to plan until one of his crew turns out to be a favourite operative of the Bronx chapter of the IRA, and decides he wants a bigger slice of the pie than he’s owed. Then, trying to fence the goods, Farrell draws the ire of the Albanian mob by disrespecting its godfather. Suddenly Farrell’s looking at a hail of bullets instead of early retirement, and as his gang scatters around him he’s off and running – not sure who’s been killed, who has survived, and who will claim the money…
‘A most promising début … A new twist tot eh crime-that-went-wrong situation’ The Times
